A Timeless Celebration: The Hayes-McConahy Wedding
Share
There's something special about a wedding that blends classic romance with a modern edge, and that's exactly what we got to create for the Hayes-McConahy wedding at The Bell Event Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. From the ceremony to the reception, every floral detail was designed to feel elegant, timeless, and just a little bit unexpected.
The Bridal Party: Black Dresses, White Blooms
One of our favorite design choices from this wedding was the striking contrast between the bridesmaids' black dresses and their white bouquets with pops of carmel, light pink and burgandy. It's a pairing that never fails to impress — sophisticated, dramatic, and endlessly photogenic.
Each bridesmaid bouquet was built with:
- Playa Blanca roses for soft, romantic structure
- White spray roses to add texture and fullness
- White alstroemeria lilies for delicate, long-lasting detail
- Light pink lisianthus for a whisper of color
- Burgundy ranunculus to ground the palette with depth
- Caramel carnations for warmth and dimension
The result was a bouquet that read as crisp and white from a distance, but revealed layers of blush, wine, and caramel tones up close — a lovely surprise against those black gowns.
Reception Florals at The Bell Event Center
The Bell Event Center's soaring windows and neutral, elegant interior gave us the perfect blank canvas to work with. For the reception tables, we leaned into a soft, garden-inspired palette of white and blue hydrangea, ivory roses, and lush greenery, paired with woven chargers, sage green linens, and warm brass accents for a look that felt organic yet polished.
Framed table numbers nestled among loose floral clusters and votive candles gave each table a personal, curated feel — like a little vignette rather than a standard centerpiece.
Honoring the Past
Among our favorite moments of the day was the family photo display, where the couple honored generations of weddings past — grandparents, parents, and their own love story — surrounded by a lush arrangement of white hydrangea and greenery. It was a beautiful reminder that every wedding is part of a much longer story.
A Palette That Told a Story
Whether it was the crisp white with the soft blush and burgundy accents tucked inside the bouquets against black dresses, this wedding proved that a restrained palette can still feel rich and full of personality. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. — it was an honor to bring your vision to life.
